The Big Easy (New Orleans, LA)

Independence Day weekend was spent in New Orleans...more updates to follow.

The air was quite thick in N.O. - not sure if its caused by the humidity or something else. Had buffet dinner @ Harrah's Casino and sampled some southern-style cuisine liked jambalaya and gumbo. Bourbon St. is full of booze and strip clubs. We did a history/ghosts walking tour, plantation & alligator swamp tour (interesting info about the canjun people) and cruised on Steamboat Natchez. The historical landmarks were interesting, like Jackson Square and the cathedral (it was designated as a minor basilica by Pope John Paul II and is the only basilica in the US). Ate at famous eateries including Acme Oyster Bar and Johnny Po Boys too!
