Went to Vegas on the weekend with Mike and Grace, staying at the Aladdin and got upgraded to a Strip view room. We saw Ka (by Cirque du Soleil) and some of the stunts were death defying. The highlight of the trip was GM's The Drive (http://www.thedrivevegas.com), right next to the Sahara. For $10, you get to drive performance cars (I chose a Corvette) and off-road cars (Hummer H2 for me) on a race circuit and off-road circuit. It was the best bang for the buck!

Just found out the Bluebaggers staged one of the best comebacks of all time against the hated Bombers. The young guys in the team showed spirit to come back from 48 points down. With all the young talent already at the club, I think we're just a few players away (CHF/CHB) from returning to the finals. Our new midfield looks good with Walker, Murphy and Gibbs sure to improve. Bentick has a chance to become the new Ratten as the in-and-under, hard ball winner. We also have Stevens and Scotland manning the middle. With Bradley and Ratten coaching the midfield, we could have the best midfield in the AFL. Go Blues!

Europe 2.3 - Berlin

Four days in Athens was probably too long (3 days would be enough). Anyway, we continued our vacation, flying into Berlin (Schnofeld airport) at 7 PM then took the Airport Express train (RE14 route) and efficient U-bahn (U2 line) to the Hyatt at Potsdamer Platz. Our first impressions of Berliners was not good - the train ticket collector was rude, and the local I asked for directions to the hotel simply ignored me. The check-in staff at the Hyatt were very friendly and helpful, providing a detailed and personal tour of the hotel, room and club lounge. The hotel itself is very modern, with spacious shower/bath tub combo design. The bathroom also has a small LCD display and volume adjustable speaker of what the TV in the main room is showing. I think we will incorporate these features into the house we will eventually build. I enjoyed Berlin best out of the 3 stops (London, Athens, Berlin), maybe because of friends (Mike/Grace and Chris/Simone), or perhaps Berlin is simply a very interes...
